From lab coats to leap of faith – Lucy and Katie take on the skydive for our charity

Healthcare Science Assistants, Lucy and Katie from the Royal Derby Hospital’s pathology department, are swapping their lab coats for parachutes as they prepare to take part in this year’s charity skydive. They have both always wanted to take part in a skydive and were prompted to take action after spotting an event poster in the hospital

Skydiving at seventeen: Teagan’s leap of gratitude for mum’s care

Seventeen-year-old Teagan Sumner from Derby isn’t your average sixth form student — this weekend, she’ll be jumping out of a plane in a daring skydive to raise funds for the high dependency ward at the Royal Derby Hospital and, for Teagan, it’s personal.

Chris Takes on London Marathon to Support Nightingale Macmillan Unit in Derby

Chris Dornan, from Derby, is gearing up to conquer the London Marathon later this month in a bid to raise funds for the Nightingale Macmillan Unit, situated at The Royal Derby Hospital. Securing a coveted spot in this year’s marathon through the ballot, Chris is determined to use the opportunity to support the unit, driven by personal ties as his partner, Hannah, serves as a senior sister there. “I chose to raise funds for the unit as the team there work so hard day-to-day to ensure all patients receive the best care possible and that their families are well supported during their time in hospital”, said Chris.
