Our mission and vision is to serve the population of Derby, Derbyshire, and Staffordshire by:
Supporting Medical Research and Innovation
With your support, we can fund studies and medical research to understand better the diseases affecting our patients today, so that we can develop the cures and therapies of tomorrow.
Enhancing the hospital environment
Our charity works to enhance the care our partner hospitals can offer through new equipment and building improvements to deliver better facilities.
Funding Staff Training and Development
Through our work, we are able to invest in the people who work in our hospitals through the funding of some specialist training and attendance at conferences.
Supporting Staff Wellbeing
We support the delivery of wellbeing activities that, in turn, will support our NHS staff to create a caring environment for the patients receiving care, their families, and visitors.
Supporting Community Projects
With your support, we can support a number of community projects that are designed to inform and guide patients. Examples include cancer support groups, bone health workshops and carer events.
Funding state-of-the-art medical equipment.
With donations and fundraising, we can help to fund life-saving equipment for those undergoing treatment for cancer and other complex conditions.
The area we cover
Our charity continues to assess the impact of the grants it makes and the projects/equipment it looks to support. This is through evaluation of these projects and by working with those wards/departments in receipt of these grants to seek feedback from staff and patients.
The case studies contained within our Annual Report and Accounts aim to underline this impact. We are mindful of the diverse nature of our beneficiaries and aims to be equitable and inclusive in its charitable activities to support both the patients we treat, the communities in which they live and our colleagues who look after them thereby realising public benefit and achieving our charitable purposes.
