Staff Remembrance Gardens
We have funded a number of memorials and gardens at the Royal Derby Hospital and Queen's Hospital Burton to remember and honour our dedicated, NHS staff who have passed away.
In each garden, there is the facility for you to purchase a handmade memorial (flower or leaf) and we will install this for you. This will create a lasting tribute to the NHS staff member, you want to remember. Each leaf or flower can carry an inscription. Please see below on how to buy one of these memorials.
The Forget-Me-Not Garden, Royal Derby Hospital
We are filling this beautifully landscaped garden with individually hand crafted ceramic flowers to create a wonderful, lasting tribute to former colleagues and friends.
A minimum donation of £120 for each flower, including leaf inscription and installation, is requested.
Your flower will be permanently set into the garden and we will contact you to let you know when the flower has been added. If you have any questions, please contact us.
When selecting your flower, and you have a preferred colour on the chart below, please indicate this on the form and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. As the garden grows, we may have to limit colour choices in order to create a natural flower garden and complement the existing colour palette.
Ceramic flowers for our staff remembrance garden
A unique dedication can be purchased from our Air Arts team.
Each flower is designed and created by local artist and ceramicist, Elaine Lim-Newton. The flowers are approximately 3 feet tall and secured into the garden using a resin base. They are frost proof and weather proof. Each flower leaf will bear a unique, handmade inscription dedicated to members of staff.
The Memorial Tree, Queen's Hospital, Burton
Thanks to funding from the Derby and Burton Hospital Charity, a memorial tree has been created at Queen's Hospital to remember and honour our staff who have passed away.
The steel tree is hung with individually hand crafted ceramic leaves to create a wonderful, lasting tribute to former colleagues and friends.
You can purchase a leaf, which are all handmade, for £120. This includes an inscription and installation.
Your leaf will be permanently hung from the memorial tree and we will contact you to let you know when the leaf has been added.
You can select one of three glazes and you can have up to 30 characters inscribed on your leaf.
