Here at Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity, we are very lucky to have our very own mascot. Lambie has only been with us a few years, but has already made a big impact around the hospital and always makes people smile.
Here's a message from Lambie:
Hi, My name is Lambie and I am the mascot for Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity.
My journey with the charity started when I was training to run for the Derby Ramathon. I tripped on the treadmill and managed to sprain my arm and break a leg.
Being in hospital was not scary and I had lots of visits from my family, especially my cousins Rammie and Ewie from our friends over at Derby County Football Club. They like to take me on trips to their home at the Pride Park Stadium.
After staying in hospital for a little while and seeing all the important work that Derby and Burton Hospitals Charity does for the hospital, I volunteered to be their mascot to help them spread the news about all the good work that they do and all the amazing support they get from fundraisers.
As their mascot, I spend time out in the community, visiting schools and other events - I try and help out wherever I can. I love making visits to our hospitals to meet patients, staff and visitors. I also go along to big fundraising events as everyone likes to get a selfie with me!
If you see me around, do come and say hello. I may give you a "Baa" and I always enjoy high fives and hugs from our charity supporters!
Thank you for supporting our charity.
